TOF2008 Results

The last canadianCUBING competition of 2008 took place today in Toronto. Good times were had by all. We wish to thank everyone that came out to the competition to make it such a success. As per usual, we would like to thank our amazing volunteers that helped to make the long day run smoothly. Thanks to all the cubers that jumped in to scramble and judge all the subsequent heats after they were done their solves. It makes the competition much better.

We sent the WCA the full results, so expect those to be posted tomorrow sometime. So many National Records were broken, I can't even keep track at this point. Derrick Eide won several events and placed in most of them. To recap the 3x3x3 event, Harris won with an average in the final of 11.92. Eric Limeback was second with 14.27, and Doowon Joo came third with 14.75.

And for the west coast Canadian cubers who are interested in how Kris and Deseree did, Kris won the 5x5 event – no small feat when he had to compete against Derrick Eide and Jack Moseley. And Deseree set a sub 17 average in the second round of the 3x3 event, good enough to move on to the final round - also no small feat in this competitive Toronto market. Congratulations to them, and to all the winners.

Keep checking the website, stay in touch with the Canadian cubing community. We had a great year of competitions, and look to have an even better 2009.
