The Atlantic Open 2013 competition took place this past weekend just outside of Saint John, NB. We had around 30 competitors making this competition almost three times as large as the last eastern Canada competition. Louis Cormier won his first competition there, coming in first place in the 3x3x3 event with an average of 9.82 seconds. Antoine Cantin finished second averaging 11.30 seconds, and David Hoar finished third at 11.88 seconds.

Antoine set a North American Record (NAR) in the One Handed event with an astonishing 12.99 second average, putting him second in the world. He also set two National Records for Pyraminx single and average. While Louis Cormier also set a NAR in the megaminx with a best time of 44.80 seconds.

We'd like to thank everyone that made it out to the competition. Many people travelled far distances in an effort to share in the day together. We had a lot of fun meeting many new additions to the vast community we have here in Canada. And an extra special thank you goes out to the entire Stairs family who were instrumental in making the competition go smoothly. We look forward to many more eastern Canada competitions to come.
