About the Competition

canadianCUBING is pleased to announce the Quebec City 2019 speedcubing competition. The competition will be held on February 16-17 2019, at Collège Jésus-Marie de Sillery, which is located at 2047 Chemin St-Louis, Quebec, Quebec G1T 1P3.

The competition has a limit of 150 competitors. You must register on the canadianCUBING site and pay on the Cubing Out Loud site to complete your registration and secure your spot.

The competition will take place in the gymnasium which can be found by taking the stairs down to your left when entering via the main entrance to the school.

This is an official WCA event, and as such all official regulations will be followed. Please take some time to read them over before the day of the competition, especially if you have never competed before.

Registration

Click here to access the registration form. Registration for the competition will close on Saturday, February 02, 2019 if the available spots are not filled. So be sure to register online to take advantage of the early bird pricing. See the Cost section for details.

Costs

The cost to competitors that register online before the close date will be our standard pricing model. You will pay $20.00 to compete in one event. Each additional event will cost $2.00 to a maximum of $30.00.

Given this is a limited competition, the following are some important notes:

  • All sales are final. Should you pay online and find you cannot attend later, we will not issue a refund. This policy is to prevent "squatting", where someone reserves a limited spot without the full intention of attending.
  • If you decide to drop an event, you will not be reimbursed the fee for the event.
  • You cannot add events the morning of the competition. Your registration fee is final once you pay.
  • We will not be accepting walk-on registrations the morning of the competition. You must register online in order to participate.

Cost for spectators at the competition is free of charge

Volunteers

We are always looking for dedicated people to donate their time and efforts to these competitions. We need scramblers and judges for every round of every event. It is a great opportunity for parents, siblings, friends, or anyone that wants to come and be involved but does not want to compete yet. We will provide training the morning of the competition for those wishing to help out. It is not difficult, so don't be afraid!

For anyone that volunteers and helps out for an entire competition, we will act as a reference if you wish to put this on your resume or college application. We will also sign any high school volunteer hour sheets provided you work the entire competition. But you must arrange this with us before the competition. Contact us here if you plan to help out.
