canadianCUBING, together with Le Club de Cube de L'Escale are proud to bring you the National Capital Region 2012 (NCR 2012) competition. The competition will be held on Saturday, May 19 2012 at L'Escale school in the Optimist Performance Hall (room # C.104). The school is located at 1535 Du Parc Avenue, Rockland, Ontario, which is just east of Ottawa.
Please refer to the map provided for information on how to get to the room once at the school. It will be held in their cafeteria, room 54, indicated with the cube on the map.
This is an official WCA event, and as such all official regulations will be followed. Please take some time to read them over before the day of the competition, especially if you have never competed before.

The cost to competitors that register online before the close date will be a flat fee of $10 for any number of events.
If you do not register online before the close of the registration period, you can still register the morning of the competition. The price at that time, however, is $15 flat rate for any number of events. So be sure to register online. You can edit your events using the link found in the email sent to you after registering.
Parking on the day of the competition will be complementary in the school's parking lot.
Cost for spectators at the competition is free of charge. So please come out and watch some of the fastest speedcubers in the country compete.

The top three placements will be recognized for their achievements. All three will receive a certificate and first place in a main event will also get a puzzle.

Competitors are split up into "heats" to help improve the flow of the day. The heat sheet can be found here. Please know your heat per event, listen for it to be called and be ready when it is called.
There are several options for lunch in the area.
There will be an after party for the competitors and their guests that will commence following the awards ceremony in the same room as the competition. We will offer pizza with a variety of choices, if you would like something specific, leave the information in the comments section of your registration. We will have vegetarian pizzas available, as well. The cost is included in your registration fee.
There are several hotels or motels in the area. Use Google to search for one that meets your needs. We will offer River Rock Inn as the official hotel for the competition, as it is close and clean.
canadianCUBING will have a merchandise booth set up for you to purchase equipment and supplies for your cubing needs. We accept cash only. It is on a first come, first serve basis. We cannot guarentee any items. Check the merchandise section often, as new items come in and we will update the site as they do.
We are always looking for dedicated people to donate their time and efforts to these competitions. We need scramblers and judges for every round of every event. It is a great opportunity for parents, siblings, friends, or anyone that wants to come and be involved but does not want to compete yet. We will provide training the morning of the competition for those wishing to help out. It is not difficult, so don't be afraid!
For anyone that volunteers and helps out for an entire competition, we will act as a reference if you wish to put this on your resume or college application. We will also sign any high school volunteer hour sheets provided you work the entire competition. But you must arrange this with us before the competition. Contact us here if you plan to help out.
